West Hartford Police Apprehend Six Juveniles, One with Gun, Following Fraudulent Credit Card Use

West Hartford Police detained six juveniles at Westfarms who were allegedly using credit cards stolen from North Branford, and one of the juveniles was also found in possession of a gun.

Credit cards stolen overnight Thursday in North Branford were used at Westfarms Friday morning, and West Hartford Police were called in by mall security at 11:45 a.m. Friday to assist in the apprehension of six juveniles who were allegedly using the cards.

The six juveniles detained by West Hartford Police were found to be in possession of the stolen credit cards, merchandise purchased with the cards, and keys belonging to two vehicles which had been reported stolen, police said.

According to police, one of the juveniles was also found to be in possession of a Ruger .380 pistol that had the serial number filed off.

The juvenile with the gun was taken into custody and charged by West Hartford Police, and brought to the juvenile detention facility in Hartford.

The other five juveniles were turned over to North Branford Police, who had been investigating the theft of the credit cards.

    Great job west Hartford Police! Thank you for keeping us safe. Hearing that one if the teens had a gun, sounds like this could have gone a different route…. Blue lives matter
