A man contacted police and said he had been shot at a gas station in West Hartford.

West Hartford Police are investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night at the Sunoco gas station at 956 New Britain Ave., during which a man reported that he had been shot at by someone he knows.

Police said that a call was received at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday from the victim, who said that someone he knows had fired shots at him an hour earlier.

Officers searched the area, and found two shell casings on the ground, police said.

Police said that there were no reported injuries, and they believe this was an isolated incident.

According to police, there is no threat to the public.

The investigation into this incident remains active and further information is not available at this time, police said.
