West Hartford Police Investigating Shots Fired on New Park Avenue

West Hartford Police responded to a report of gunfire on New Park Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Police were dispatched to the area of 449 New Park Avenue at approximately 3:57 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025 in response to a report that shots had been fired, Capt. Aaron Vafiades said.
According to Vafiades, officers arriving at the scene did find evidence of gunfire, and said there was damage to the building at 449 New Park Avenue, which is home to New Park Wheels and Tires. The property is located just north of Flatbush Avenue.

Vafiades said there are no reports of “injuries or victims” as a result of the shots fired.
New Park Avenue between Flatbush Avenue and Prospect Avenue is closed to traffic while the active investigation of the incident continues.
