LendEDU recently compiled its “Best Cities for a Teaching Career Report,” ranking the top 250 cities in the United States in which to work as a teacher, and West Hartford was ranked 97th, sixth among the 11 Connecticut school districts that made the top 250 list.

Weston was ranked no. 1 in the state, followed by Storrs/Mansfield, New Canaan, East Hampton, and Fairfield. The top districts that followed West Hartford were New Fairfield, Simsbury, Darien, and Monroe.

According to LendEDU, thousands of cities throughout the country were analyzed for this report, with metrics that included “population, average household income, cost of education index, percent of the population enrolled in school, and percent of employees working in educational services.”

The score for each of the metric was weighted and then added together for the total score that determined the ranking. Details can be found here.

LendUDU, which according to its website “is a marketplace for student loans, student loan refinancing, credit cards, and personal loans,” also prepares a variety of guides, surveys, and other resources in order to increase transparency and assist its users in making financial decisions.
