State Rep. Joe Verrengia (D-West Hartford) is pleased to have been appointed to serve as Chair of the Public Safety and Security Committee for the 2017 Legislative Session.
“As someone who served in a public safety capacity for many years, I am honored to be able to serve as chair of the Public Safety and Security Committee,” Verrengia said. “I will continue to apply my experience in the field and work with colleagues on the Committee on measures and legislation that have positive impacts on public safety.”
“Representative Verrengia’s background and experience in law enforcement makes him a great fit to lead the Public Safety and Security Committee,” Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin, Southington) said. “His previous work as vice-chair of this committee will also be an asset as they take on the important issues that come before them.”
Verrengia represents West Hartford’s 20th Assembly District. In addition to chair of Public Safety, Verrengia serves on the Transportation Committee.
