With the advent of the smartphone, the world has become one big photo op, and the slew of images stored on our devices overwhelms us – buried – with no easy way to enjoy them.
To address the situation, West Hartford resident Kathy Colello has introduced “Make My Photo Book,” a photo album creation service that does what you’ve been meaning to do forever – go through the images, select the best, and assemble them into books. Whether everyday moments, vacation pix, or special occasions, the photos become instantly accessible, displayed in a fashion befitting their specialness and easily shared with family and friends.
“I don’t know how many people have told me, ‘I have so many terrific photos I want to get into a book but I just don’t have the time,’” says Kathy, who started the business after putting together her own wedding album and discovering how much she enjoyed it. “Some folks have had their wedding and bar mitzvah images for several years and haven’t done anything with them yet.”
Cost depends on several factors, including the quality of the cover, number of pages and extent of the work involved. Clients provide the photos digitally – on a flash drive, online, or through email. They pay less if they provide the exact photos wanted in the book, more for Kathy to go through and select the photos. Kathy’s recent projects have included wedding albums, wedding-party gift books, bar and bat mitzvah albums, and year-in-review family albums.
Throughout the summer, Kathy is offering a $100 special on a 20-page hardcover book, up to 60 images.
