[Updated Oct. 20 with menu items being offered at each restaurant!]

Connecticut’s hospitality industry is banding together to raise money for Puerto Rico relief efforts with CT Loves Puerto Rico, and 21 West Hartford restaurants are participating in the effort which runs from Oct. 21-28.

Hurricanes Irma and María have devastated the island of Puerto Rico, leaving millions without water, many without shelter, and an entire population without access to power. The unimaginable has happened.

CT Loves Puerto Rico is a glimpse into the soul of the Connecticut food and cocktail community – and the heart of America’s culinary industry at large – from talented chefs and creative bartenders to dynamic publicists and brilliant journalists, all banding together with a common ethos: Make it easy, geographically and economically, for everyday Americans – many of whom have been unsure of how to take action, or are donating to a cause for the first time – to contribute in some small way, regardless of busy schedule or wallet size.

Connecticut chefs, bartenders, bakers, and restaurateurs are standing together to serve up a small offering of food and drink – inspired by the island – as tribute to this important sisterland that we will not leave behind. One-hundred percent of the proceeds generated by these dishes will be donated to Puerto Rico relief.

CT loves Puerto Rico is the second market to launch the fundraising campaign. LA loves Puerto Rico launched on Saturday, Oct. 7 and ran through Oct. 14, with more than 90 restaurants and bars across the city of Los Angeles participating.

CT Loves Puerto Rico begins on Saturday, Oct. 21, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.

Funds will be donated to Unidos Por Puerto Rico/United for Puerto Rico, an initiative brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of the hurricanes.
