Upwards of 50 women embraced possibility and gave back on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, supporting the Jewish Family Services Toy & Winter Weather Wear Drive.
Two hundred wishes are being fulfilled for JFS clients with gifts and toys for the holidays and winter wear for the cold weather season. “This drive served a significant need for children who are served at JFS who may not have been able to purchase this warm clothing otherwise,” said Anne Danaher, Executive Director of JFS.
In partnership with JFS, Deeds for Needs Founders Melissa Weinstock, Robin Fierston, and Stephanie Gitlin helped make this event a reality.
Melissa expressed thanks: “Our community is incredible – generous beyond words! We are blown away by the outpouring of support. People literally purchased every item on the JFS Wish List within an hour and a half.”
Robin added, “It was a joy to see our community come together effortlessly to help one another.”
Drop-off of the items is at TD Bank, Bishops Corner, JFS Corporate Sponsor.
JFS focuses on three core areas: Counseling, Education, and Community Support, and utilizes a variety of counseling treatment approaches and can help clients address a wide range of issues. Visit www.jfshartford.org to learn more about Jewish Family Services.
