For the first time ever, the town of West Hartford was selected to host the 9U Cal Ripken New England Regional Baseball Championships. West Hartford Youth Baseball will be the host league, and games will be held at Wolcott Park and Fern Park, from July 15-20.

The tournament will consist of pool play followed by single-elimination playoffs in addition to a Skills Competition on Friday evening, July 15. Starting on Friday, eight District teams from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, including WHYBL’s own 9U team (the “Bengals”), will compete for the Regional Championship.

As hosts, the WHYBL 9U team will play its first game at 2 p.m. at Fern Park, on Friday, July 15.

Other details:

  • The opening ceremony is Friday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at Wolcott Park. All details and game schedule/results can be found here: 2022 9U New England Regionals.
  • The WHYBL concession stand will be in full operation.
  • WHYBL is looking for local (youth) singers/musicians to sing or play the National Anthem before each game. If your child is interested, please email [email protected].

Beginning Friday, head on over to Wolcott Park to grab something to eat, catch some great youth baseball, and support our local team. Go Bengals!
