Simon, the real estatement investment trust that owns Westfarms, located on the West Hartford-Farmington town line, has announced that Carolyn Edwards has been appointed general manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as overall retailer relations, marketing, leasing, business development, security, and guest experience at the property.

“Westfarms has long set the standard as a premier shopping destination in the market, distinguished by its commitment to delivering an exceptional retail experience,” Edwards said in a statement. “I’m excited to build on that strong foundation alongside our outstanding team and retail partners, and to continue elevating Westfarms as a best-in-class destination for our community.”

According to Monday’s announcement, Edwards brings more than 30 years of experience in operations, management, and retail marketing to her new role at one of the state’s premier shopping and dining destinations. She also previously worked for Prime Retail, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, and the American Heart Association.

She began her professional career in Connecticut, at WFSB-TV.

Edwards attended Westfield State University and currently lives in Massachusetts.
