West Hartford Enjoys Delicious ‘Taste of Bishops Corner’

The second annual Taste of Bishops Corner was held on May 17, 2017, on the patio of the Edens Bishops Corner Shopping Center.

On a summer-like evening, the West Hartford community relaxed on the patio in between Maximum Beverage and Blue Plate Kitchen in the Edens Bishops Corner Shopping Center, sampling a culinary feast provided by area restaurants, enjoying a wine/beer/Fisher’s Island lemonade-tasting, and listening to live music.
About 150 attended the second annual Taste of Bishops Corner, which was rescheduled from its original late March date in hopes of being held outside in great weather – and all agreed it was a very good move. Please enjoy the photos below.
Abby Dabby Ice Cream & Treats, Blue Plate Kitchen, Crown Market Café, Harry’s Bishops Corner, Koma Japanese Steakhouse, Panera Bread, and Moe’s Southwest Grill handed out plentiful samples of some of their signature dishes, and made sure that no one went home hungry.
Maximum Beverage offered a wine and beer tasting, as well as samples of Fisher’s Island Lemonade to the over-21 crowd.
Many took advantage of the rejuvenating chair massages by Massage Envy, and younger children practiced their soccer skills at Soccerapolis’ display. Event co-sponsor Anytime Fitness had a team on hand to share information.
Other exhibitors, including Keating Agency, Orangetheory, and European Wax Center also had booths and activities or handouts for event patrons.
Tom Hickey, of West Hartford Magazine and We-Ha.com, and event co-organizer, made very brief remarks to thank the event sponsors that included Simon Konover Company, Anytime Fitness, plus Lux Bond & Green, Argelia Novias Bridal/Oscars TUX, JP Carroll Construction, and Stanger Stanfield Law. The beneficiaries of the event are Mandell JCC and Hall High Jazz Band.
Local bands Gravitonik and BAND2 entertained the audience throughout the event with classic and popular favorites – and no one could believe that band members are only in middle school and high school.
Thanks to Eat IN Connecticut, NBC Connecticut’s Meteorologist Kaitlyn McGrath took the opportunity to broadcast her evening forecast from Bishops Corner, and she also tweeted about it.
