What better way to celebrate the end of summer than with local art, creative people, and a whole lot of inspiration?

The WeHa Artists Emporium’s ART STOP brings together 11 talented local artists and makers for a unique, one-stop art market in West Hartford, CT on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The outdoor event will feature an eclectic lineup of artists, each offering something completely different – from whimsical mixed media and watercolor to jewelry, ceramics, glass, woodworking, textiles, pottery, cookbooks, and even live henna art.

“The event started in 2020 as a way to help artists sell work during the pandemic,” explains Stefanie Marco, one of the WeHa Artists Emporium’s founding members. “It’s been such a success that we do it every year.”

Hosted at 35 North Quaker Lane in West Hartford, ART STOP invites the community to spend an afternoon discovering and supporting local creativity in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Artists will be set up throughout the front lawn and backyard, creating a little art adventure right at the end of summer.

“We have regular art lovers that come back year after year,” says artist Julie Phillipps. “But some people are just out walking and see the tents set up in the front yard. They get a lovely creative surprise!”

The lineup includes:

• Julie Phillipps – watercolors, ink drawings, and graphic novels
• Stefanie Marco of KiNDSPiN DESiGN – one-of-a-kind mixed media art created from reclaimed, repurposed, and found objects
• Rachel Shuler of Mountain Tree Studios – jewelry and mixed media metal paintings
• Olivia Ferrell – handmade jewelry
• Patrick Buckley – ceramics
• Larry Noble – ceramics
• Sarah Rose Hill Bennett of Strange Charm Glassworks – handmade glass art
• Michael Cocco of Great Wood Co. – woodworking and handcrafted wood planters
• Megan Poulin – textile art, plus the opportunity to customize and level up your own clothing
• Kate Lincoln – pottery
• Terry Walters – plant-based cookbooks
• Pooja Shukla – live henna art available during the event

With such a diverse collection of artists, there is truly something for everyone – whether you’re looking for an original piece of art, a handmade gift, something beautiful for your home, a wearable creation, or simply an afternoon surrounded by creativity.

Please note that this event is being held at a private residence. For the safest and easiest parking, visitors are encouraged to park on Milton Road and walk around the corner to North Quaker Lane.
