Artisan Restaurant, Tavern and Garden in West Hartford, a beloved and award-winning restaurant with two other locations in Southport, CT and Newfane, VT, will officially celebrate its one year anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 5-7 p.m.

It is no secret that a one year anniversary is an important milestone in what can be described as a fickle industry. That said, Artisan’s seasoned professionals have consistently worked to become a trusted partner in the community and maintain an unparalleled level of hospitality to earn its trusted reputation in the Greater Hartford area. Artisan recognizes that the community comes first and creating an environment that is inviting, comfortable, and fun will contribute to long term success.

“We are extremely pleased to have been welcomed and accepted into West Hartford’s food-savvy community – a special place to be a part of,” said Executive Chef and Partner Frederic Kieffer. “We will keep on working season after season, to deserve that trust and support. It is exciting and rewarding when our guests see the big picture and truly appreciate the sustainable efforts being made behind the scenes.”

In this first year alone, Artisan has participated in events that support a myriad of causes close to the communities heart like: the West Hartford Restaurant Week, CT Loves PR, a Yoga Workshop in support of Breast Cancer awareness, Johnny’s Jog, and End Hunger Connecticut. They also have held regular patio parties where guests enjoy the 161 square foot outdoor oasis that was plotted and tended to by their Resident Gardener Reneé Giroux, along with Rosé Saturdays over the summer. Furthermore, an October Pumpkin carving contest and Sunday S’mores by the outdoor fireplace were free events that quickly became family favorites.

Notably, Artisan won “Best Hotel Restaurant” and “Best Outdoor Dining” runner-up in Best of Hartford Magazine’s readers poll, launched a private label Rosé, and was hailed for fan favorites like the tomatillo gazpacho with chilled avocado sorbet and crab meat.

“Our clienteles satisfaction is our main drive, as we are continuously improving and refining ourselves, our menu and our service,” said Director of Operations Hicham Amaaou. “We are creating and participating in events that allow us to interact and contribute to our community, which is very important to us. We are thrilled with the great feedback we have received from the community thus far, and we are happy that our guests recognize and appreciate our efforts.”

Artisan West Hartford is the conception of Charles Mallory, Rick Wahlstedt, and Executive Chef and Partner Frederic Kieffer, who have combined their expertise to create a unique and innovative casual/fine dining restaurant. Artisan offers a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability, combining the casual yet comfortable elegance of a country-chic setting with artful cuisine. Artisan’s menu is influenced by the rhythm of the seasons, with an emphasis on serving the freshest of ingredients from local and regional farms, as well as Artisan’s own onsite seasonal garden.
