West Hartford-based Ballet Theatre Company has limited positions available for its resident company’s upcoming 2022-2023 season, BTC’s 24th, and dancers with a strong classical ballet background as well as classical partnering experience are encouraged to apply.

Ballet Theatre Company seeks 4-6 professional dancers with a strong ballet background (including pointe work for women) available for the 2022-23 Season beginning in August 2022.
The company is searching for proficient artists familiar with dancing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire. Dancers must have the legal right to work in the United States to be considered.
Ballet Theatre Company is pleased to offer a competitive bi-weekly stipend, plus a shoe/dancewear stipend and additional compensation for special engagements and/or public appearances.
Interested dancers should send their resume, headshot, full-body dance photo, updated performance reel, and copy of COVID-19 vaccine card (dancers must be fully-vaccinated. Reasonable accommodations provided for those who have an exemption) to BTC Ballet Mistress Emily Silva at [email protected]. Audition applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all available positions have been filled. Selected dancers will be invited to attend company class to audition alongside current resident dancers at BTC’s West Hartford studios.
Contract details:
- 34 weeks of work
- Repertoire including classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works
- 2 full-length, mainstage performances
- 2 mixed-rep blackbox performances at BTC’s Ron & Nancy Compton Studio & Performance Space
- Gala style performances
- Additional community excerpt performances & appearances
- August 2022 – June 2023
- Bi-weekly stipend
- Shoe stipend/pointe shoe reimbursement

Ballet Theatre Company enriches the greater Hartford area by offering professional caliber dance productions, dance education for ages 3 to adult, and dance related workshops free of charge to children who otherwise would not have the opportunity through BTC’s Community Youth Outreach Program.
