Eighteen Conservative Synagogue Sisterhoods from Western and Eastern Massachusetts, Central and Northeastern Connecticut generously donated gorgeous baskets filled with non-perishable food products, personal hygiene items, pampering bath items, grocery gift cards, and Marshall’s gift cards. What a beautiful way to celebrate the power of women helping friends and neighbors in need.

“What a magnificent mitzvah! It never ceases to amaze me the power, generosity, and creativity of women helping families in need. This is a spectacular shining example,” said an enthusiastic Patti Weiner of JFS. “We, JFS and the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry clients, are blessed to be the fortunate recipients!”

Karen Cohen and Barbara Feivou, organizers of the conference held at The Emanuel Synagogue, said, “We hope these baskets will help toward feeding Jewish people and keeping them on track.” Debbie Bettan, President of the North Atlantic Region for Women’s League for Conservative Judaism which networks to engage, enrich and empower conservative Jewish women, shared, “It is fun to help all.”

JFS utilizes a variety of counseling treatment approaches and can help clients address a wide range of issues. Visit www.jfshartford.org to see a list of clinicians and their areas of expertise. For information about the Kosher Food Pantry or to learn how you can help, call 860-236-1927.
