West Hartford Center retailer BK&Co. is celebrating its anniversary and Mother’s Day with a variety of activities and a fundraiser for the Bridge.

More than 31 years ago, best friends Barbara Karsky and Karen Herbert left the corporate world and started their first venture – a men’s clothing store in Avon.
Soon they added women’s fashions, then children’s fashions. Soon they decided to close up this store and head over the mountain to West Hartford Center, where they opened BK&Co.
As a way to celebrate the many friends and family who have supported them along the way, Karsky and Herbert are holding various events throughout the month of May as a way to give back to their community.
Activities and offers include:
- Buy one item at regular price and receive 31 percent off your second fabulous find! (Must present postcard with coupon, available as PDF below. The offer expires May 31, 2017, discount applies to regular priced merchandise only.)
- Anniversary Celebration on Saturday May 13, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Customers who donate $10 to the Bridge Family Center will receive 10 percent off their purchase, and those who donate $20 will receive 20 percent off. There will also be informal modeling, raffles, decadent treats, and other dazzling discounts.
- Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. is the “Day of Comfy” with a chance to meet Margie the Comfy Fashionista for new styles and fashion tips. It’s a day to shop, be pampered and stay “COMFY!”
- Wednesday, May 24, there will be an event at St. Francis Women’s Auxiliary: Bold, Beautiful … Goes Cosmopolitan Fashion Show 2017.
