Bridge Names New Director for West Hartford’s Family Resource Center

Kris Cool has been named director of the Family Resource Center at the Bridge Family Center.

Kristen Cool, a distinguished early childhood educator, has assumed the role of director of Family Resource Center at the Bridge Family Center.

In this position, Cool will be responsible for the development and coordination of a variety of family programs and support services that enhance parenting, promote family involvement with the schools, and help children to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Cool is a graduate of Clark University and Saint Joseph College (now University of Saint Joseph), with dual certification in elementary and special education. She is a specialist in early literacy instruction and is a tireless advocate for equitable opportunities for students. Cool also served as a special education preschool teacher and a Birth-to-Three interventionist.

Her commitment to children and families has been evident throughout her career and her advocacy efforts have helped numerous students receive the education they need and deserve. Kristen’s expertise in early childhood education will be an asset to the organization as we strive to meet the needs of our community,” stated Margaret Hann, executive director of the Bridge Family Center.

Cool is a resident of West Hartford.
