Noam Sturm, who has been principal of West Hartford’s Bugbee Elementary School since 2010, has been hired as the principal of Roaring Brook School in Avon. He will begin his new job this summer.
“I greatly appreciate all that Noam has done for the children of West Hartford over the past 16 years, and particularly during his six years as principal of Bugbee. I congratulate him as he takes the next step on his career path,” West Hartford Superintendent of Schools Tom Moore said.
According to Moore, details about the selection process for a new principal will be discussed with the Bugbee community right after April break, which runs from April 9-17.
According to the Hartford Courant, Sturm will take over for Roaring Brook Interim Principal Thomas Russo, who has served in that position for two years following the retirement of longtime Principal Chrisanne Colgan who retired in 2014.
