Revelers traveled through the ‘looking glass’ for an evening in Wonderland of dining and dancing, in support of The Bushnell’s award winning arts-in-education programs at the recent Ovations Gala. 400 attendees arrived, many costumed as Wonderland characters in celebration of the “Through the Looking Glass” theme.
Ovations is an annual fundraiser for The Bushnell’s nationally-recognized arts-in-education program, PARTNERS® (Partners in Arts and Education Revitalizing Schools), enabling students in classrooms throughout Hartford realize their dreams of a brighter future, based on findings that the arts have a positive effect on families, teachers, curriculum, communities, and students.
The evening featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, culinary stations, silent and live auctions, a performance by The Bushnell’s Ensign-Darling Vocal Fellows, dessert and dancing on the Belding Theater stage to the music of the Boston-based band, Legit. www.bushnell.org.
