Camp Blue Back, now in its third week, turned the Square into an exciting getaway for children, parents, and babysitters. Complete with face paint, balloon animals, and a Fourth of July-themed craft, there was something for all ages.
From sharks to superheroes to butterflies galore, the face paint was a huge hit and a special treat for many West Hartford kids. However, the line can get long and the artist may not have time to get to every child before the event ends, so it is encouraged to arrive sooner rather than later.
Kids also had the opportunity to complete a USA-themed craft under tents to take a break from the sun. After the event, many families stopped into the Noah Webster Library and Barnes & Noble to pick up some summer reading after spending the morning in the Square with friends.
The camp is a free event and will continue to be held every Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. with the last session on Aug. 13. Next Tuesday, July 9, will feature the Magic Kenny Show and balloon twisting.
