Chef Andrey Kaplun Pulls a Tavern-Takeover at Noah Webster House

Join the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society for its eleventh season of Tavern Nights. On Feb. 21, Chef Andrey Kaplun from Delicacy Market will take over the museum kitchen and create a delicious take on Early American tavern food. Tickets are $35 per person and $30 for museum members. The evening will also feature a special drink tasting and tavern games. Sittings are available at 6 and 8 p.m.

Live music by Rick Spencer will accompany the meal. Rick is known internationally for his work as a historian, researcher, singer, songwriter and performer of music in the American folk tradition. For over 25 years he has traveled and performed at venues which include concert stages, folk festivals, museums, historical societies, pubs and others.

Tickets include dinner, one complimentary drink, live music, and tavern games. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. A valid ID is required for alcoholic drinks. Vegetarian options must be requested at the time reservations are made. Reservations are available through the museum’s website at www.noahwebsterhouse.org, or by calling 860-521-5362 x10.

The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is located in the restored birthplace and childhood home of Noah Webster. Webster was a national figure known not only for the first American dictionary and the Blue-Backed Speller, but also for being a federalist, an abolitionist and a cofounder of Amherst College. The historic house and exhibit spaces are open daily 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
