Trash and recycling will be delayed by one day for residents in all collection areas, and Town Hall and other Town of West Hartford facilities have adjusted hours due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Christmas and New Year’s are federal holidays and will be observed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

Pickup of trash, recycling, and metal will be changed for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s.

Trash, recycling, and metal collections that typically take place on Monday and Tuesday will be done on the regular scheduled collection days, but Wednesday’s trash, recycling, and metal collections for both weeks will be done on Thursday, and all other pick-ups will take place one day later.

Christmas week is a “B” week for recycling and New Year’s week is an “A” week.

Residents dropping off cardboard and boxes are asked to bring only clean cardboard, break down or collapse boxes, remove all non-cardboard material (like styrofoam, wrapping paper, tape, packing material, and plastic), and please not leave material on the ground outside the dumpster.
