Jessica Shepherd, a senior captain of the women’s basketball team at Mitchell College in New London and a 2012 Conard graduate, scored her 1,000th point during a 64-59 victory over Newbury on Valentine’s Day.
Shepherd, who scored 19 points during the win, needed 13 to reach the milestone. She is the third player to achieve this honor since the program moved to Division III.
Shepherd was a captain and all-league player while at Conard. She graduated as the program’s leader for career 3-pointers with 88.
