Conard put together one of its most complete efforts of the season, combining efficient offense with standout goaltending to earn a 10-6 victory over Southington. In a game that tested both depth and discipline, Conard leaned on its top playmakers while getting a crucial performance in net to secure the win.
The offensive catalyst was Jordan Lennon, who delivered a dominant showing with five goals and one assist. Lennon controlled the pace on the attacking end, consistently finding openings in Southington’s defense and finishing with confidence. Whether working from behind the cage or attacking downhill, he proved difficult to contain and set the tone early for Conard’s offense.

Supporting Lennon was Torin McGoldrick, who contributed across the board with two goals and two assists. McGoldrick’s ability to distribute and create opportunities added balance to the attack, preventing Southington from focusing solely on Lennon. Liam Alver added a goal and an assist, while Benjamin Walsh chipped in with one goal and one assist of his own. Justin Narayankara also found the back of the net, rounding out a well-distributed scoring effort.
One of the more notable moments came from Brady Cersosimo, who recorded his first point of the season with an assist – an encouraging sign as Conard continues to build depth and confidence throughout its lineup.

While the offense was productive, the difference in the game came between the pipes. Goalie Charlie Doyle turned in an exceptional performance, stopping 20 shots and anchoring the defense under constant pressure. Southington generated a high volume of chances, but Doyle consistently came up with key saves, particularly during stretches where momentum could have shifted. His composure and shot-stopping ability allowed Conard to maintain control even when possession was not entirely in its favor.
Possession metrics reflected a competitive battle. Conard finished with nine ground balls, with contributions from players like Holden Smith and Seamus Egan, who were active in winning loose balls and helping stabilize play defensively. At the faceoff X, Conard won seven draws, showing flashes of control but also periods of inconsistency. Despite not dominating these areas statistically, Conard maximized its possessions by executing efficiently on offense.

Defensively, Conard held Southington to just six goals, a testament to both the unit’s resilience and the strong play in goal. The defense bent at times under pressure but did not break, limiting high-quality opportunities and clearing effectively when it mattered most.
Ultimately, the combination of Lennon’s offensive explosion, balanced scoring contributions, and elite goaltending proved too much for Southington to overcome. The 10-6 win highlights Conard’s ability to win in multiple ways – whether through star power, depth production, or defensive grit.

The only game the Red Wolves have lost so far was the first – 12-11 at East Lyme – and the season progresses, performances like this provide a blueprint for success. If Conard (8-1) can continue to pair efficient offense with strong play in net, they will remain a tough matchup for any opponent.
Next up Conard, currently ranked No. 7 in Class L, travels to Farmington (5-2) on Friday, and returns home on Monday night to host South Windsor (6-4).
