A ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon at West Hartford’s Conard High School to recognize the seniors who plan to continue participating in sports at the collegiate level.

Twenty of the 24 students who will continue as student athletes at the Division I, Division II, or Division III level were on hand for the ceremony, along with coaches, family, and friends. Last year there were 19 students recognized who planned to continue sports at the college level.

Several of those who plan to compete at the Division I level signed National Letters of Intent last fall.

Athletic Director Jason Siegal said getting to this point involved much time, energy, and effort – on behalf of the students, and also sacrifices and support by their parents and other family members.

“It’s a tremendous accomplishment and we could not be more proud of you,” Siegal said.
