Congratulations to all of the participants the inaugural Crown Market Latke Eating Contest held in West Hartford on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017.

First place winner Graham Kist ate 50 latkes on Monday in the 20-minute timed competition at this soon-to-be-annual seasonal event.
Kist, who writes a food blog as a hobby and has won other competitive eating competitions, noted on his Instagram @noshanotherday that “It’s easy to eat when food is that good.”
Chef Matt’s “famous potato latkes” and apple sauce kept on coming as contestants indicated they were ready for more with a raising of the hand.
The event attracted more than 15 participants of all ages, and was held on the seventh day of Chanukah.
Gift certificates were awarded, and pizza samples were available for on-lookers.
