After a two-year hiatus, the Elmwood Senior Center – a division of the West Hartford Department of Human and Leisure Services – will be hosting a free “gazebo concert” for the public on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
The concert will feature “Elmwood’s Jive Five,” a dynamic jazz band which is made up of local, first-rate musicians from the Hartford area. The talented quintet is comprised of Steve Benson on bass, Dan Fine on keyboard, Zev Mamlocki on clarinet, Les Rottner on trumpet, and Ed Wrobel on the drums.
This group is great fun to dance to, or even just to listen to! The combo will play popular tunes from the great American songbook.
Attendees are invited to pack a picnic supper and snacks and gather their lawn chairs and blankets to bring to this all-age fun and free concert, which will be held on the lawn next to the gazebo at the Elmwood Community Center (1106 New Britain Ave., West Hartford). In the event of rain, the event will be held inside in the climate-controlled Ernest St. Jacques Auditorium of the Elmwood Community Center.
The complimentary concert is made possible thanks to generous co-sponsors: Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home and Autumn Lake Healthcare at New Britain.
