With undergraduate enrollment up 6% for the Fall 2024-2025 school year, the University of Saint Joseph will now offer upperclass and graduate students housing in the heart of Downtown Hartford.

USJ has signed an agreement with Millennium Apartments at 50 Morgan Street North to provide student housing for juniors, seniors, and graduate students in a number of fully-furnished studio double units. University leadership began exploring additional housing downtown for students at the end of the last academic year due to increased enrollment.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer this new option for our USJ students, particularly those engaged in pre-professional experiences downtown such as clinical rotations in nursing, pharmacy and nutrition, and a wide range of internships,” said USJ President Rhona Free. “Our decision to secure expanded housing in Hartford is a win-win for students and Hartford, as USJ and other institutions contribute to Hartford’s growth as a college town.”

At an open house held on Tuesday, July 30, President Free and USJ Student Life Dean Brandon Dawson were joined by numerous students; members of Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam’s staff, Chief Operating Officer Shay Ajayi and Director of Development Services Jeff Auker; and MetroHartford Alliance CEO David Griggs.

“It will be great to have USJ students downtown where they can visit our restaurants and businesses and take in a Yard Goats game. We’re excited to have a USJ presence in downtown Hartford to contribute to the vibrancy of our great city,” Auker said.

“This is more than a transformation,” said Griggs. “It’s a realization of just how much of a college town Hartford is.”

Located next door to Dunkin Park and approximately 12 minutes from the USJ campus by bus or car, The Millennium offers its residents amenities including on-site parking; a game room with arcade games, pool and air hockey; theatre space with reclining seats; an outdoor seasonal pool; and on-site gym and private yoga room.
