The Golden Thread Gallery is pleased to present our latest exhibition, Essence of Home, with an artist closing reception and poetry reading on Saturday, April 2, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Essence of Home is the Golden Thread Gallery’s second exhibit in its third season. Essence of Home includes a diverse selection of work from 19 artists from all different backgrounds and all over the country. Work includes multi media, oil, watercolor acrylic, photography and sculpture together creating a beautiful perspective on the theme.
This season the gallery is inviting all poets to be inspired by the art at The Golden Thread Gallery and create poetry in response to the art. All poems will be included in a catalog that will be displayed with our exhibit and a hand fill of poets will be chosen to read their work at our closing event. For our first exhibit, Tree of Life, we had over 40 poems written inspired by the exhibit, and four poets shared their work with us to a captivated audience at our closing event.
The Golden Thread Gallery, with the mission of connecting the human spirit through the arts, began presenting meaningful work in 2013. The Golden Thread Gallery exhibits professional and emerging artists from various backgrounds and welcomes all mediums, all cultures and religions. By displaying a collection of various perspectives on a common theme, we reveal how art can creatively illustrate the diversity of the human condition. Our name, The Golden Thread, represents the invisible, underlying connection that weaves together the spirit of humanity – through the arts. To date we have had over 150 artists from all over the world exhibit their work at the gallery.
The gallery is located at 303 Tunxis Rd. in West Hartford, Connecticut. The gallery is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with gallery office hours Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
