Fall Sports Honors for Hall and Conard Include All-American for Jack Monnes

Dozens of student-athletes at West Hartford’s Conard and Hall High Schools received honors for fall sports, including Hall High School senior Jack Monnes who was named All-American.

All fall sports at West Hartford’s high schools have now concluded, and this week the Athletic Office has announced that 30 student-athletes at each high school (60 total) have received All CCC honors.

In addition, Jack Monnes, a senior midfielder on the Hall High School boys soccer team, has also been named to the All State, All New England, and All American teams. Monnes, a four-year varsity player, led the CCC in scoring with 23 goals and 10 assists in 18 games during the fall 2014 season, according to his recruiting profile.

In addition, Hall student-athlete Ari Klau (senior, cross country) received All State and All New England honors. Klau was the Class LL cross country champion and runner-up in both the State Open and New England Championship meeets. Hall senior Grant O’Connor also received All State and All New England honors for cross country, and junior Chantelle Swaby received All State and All New England honors for girls soccer.

In addition, Hall student Tara Tiernan (sophomore) won the 200 free at the State Open and earned All New England honors in girls swimming and diving.

Maria DiBella (senior, swimming and diving), Helen Chavey (senior, field hockey), and Kathleen Keegan (junior, field hockey) received All State honors. Chavey and Keegan were also named Academic All State

Conard senior Erik Riebeiro (boys soccer) and sophomore Gwen Geisler (cross country) were named All State, and Charlotte Leyland and Elizabeth Christianson received Academic All State honors in field hockey.

The following student-athletes were also named to All CCC teams in their respective sports:

  • Boys Cross Country : Alec Ferguson-Hull, Brian Torsiello
  • Girls Cross Country: Margaret Byrne, Lindsey Chen, Nora Dynowski, Gwen Geisler, Eve Gilles
  • Field Hockey: Elizabeth Christensen, Caroline Kane,  Lauren Kumpa, Charlotte Leyland
  • Football: Bryson Fountain, Kyle Ortiz, Karon Golding, Henry Fracasso, Jake Reynolds
  • Boys Soccer: Bryan Baker, Erik Ribeiro, Sebastian Rengifo Amblodegui
  • Girls Soccer: Elena Santos, Brianna Grande
  • Girls Swimming and Diving: Clara Capone, Jaqueline Palermo, Kirsten Bednarz, Maria Armillei, Emma Dowd, Marisa Haverty, Tatiana St. Juste, Kylie Bell
  • Girls Volleyball: Michelle Rodgers

Hall High School

  • Boys Cross Country: Devon Aldave, Benjamin Gross, Jonathan Kaback, Ari Klau, Grant O’Connor
  • Girls Cross Country: Libby Salzman-Fiske, Alyssa Freiman
