West Hartford-based Buzz ELM has announced  a new community initiative, – a kid only vendor market – which will take place on Feb. 1 at West Hartford Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This first-ever Kids Pop-Up Market will provide young entrepreneurs the opportunity to create, market, and sell their very own products.

Buzz ELM, a company comprised of three West Hartford moms, Elyse Fox, Laura Barash, and Melissa Geller, was created recently. “We realize the importance of a good business education at a young age and hope this event will give our local kids a chance to demonstrate their talent and creativity alongside their business skills,” said Geller.  “It is so important that we can support a child’s natural entrepreneurial spirit,” added Fox.

Buzz ELM has already received many applications and confirmed 56 kid vendor booths so far. From self-made attire to generate deaf and hard of hearing awareness through the creation of t-shirts, sweatshirts, onesies, bibs, and stickers, to wooden candle holders, baked goods and paintings, the event will be a display of kid’s original ideas and business endeavors.

“We are so excited about the turnout so far and are amazed at the numerous business ideas presented to us,” said Geller. On Feb. 1, this market will help these kids bring their business plan to fruition.”

A partial list of booths include:

  • Wooden candle holder
  • All kinds of jewelry (wire, rubber, weaving, beaded)
  • Woven potholders
  • T-shirts with positive sayings
  • Tie-dye t-shirts
  • Caramel apples
  • Cake Pops
  • Muffins
  • Bath bombs
  • Slime
  • Kinetic sand
  • 3D printed models
  • Abstract paintings
  • Paintings on canvas
  • Headbands
  • Scrunchies
  • Linoleum prints

“We hope many people will come to the vendor’s market to shop and encourage all the participating entrepreneurs,” added Barash. “Kids today are much more sophisticated and have great ideas, beyond selling lemonade. ”

All potential vendors can access applications and more information at www.POPUPKIDSMARKET.com. Buzz ELM is also looking for sponsors and partners to make this event a success. Please contact Buzz ELM or go to www.BuzzELM.com for more information.
