Former Students Invited to Perform in Celebration of Hall Choir Director’s Retirement

Hall High School’s Choir Director Lorri Cetto will retire after 34 years with West Hartford Public Schools and past choir students are invited to perform at her final concert on June 10.

Lorri Cetto, director of Choral Activities at Hall High School in West Hartford, CT, will be retiring this June after a distinguished 34-year career with the town’s public schools.

To honor Cetto, all of her past choir students are invited to participate in an Alumni and Friends Concert at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford, on Sunday June 10 at 4 p.m.

Those wishing to perform in Cetto’s final concert should plan to arrive at 3 p.m. for a brief rehearsal. A reception will follow the performance.

Cetto received her undergraduate degree in music education from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA, her master’s in performance from University of Connecticut, and Kodaly Certificate from the Hartt School. Cetto has worked as a guest conductor in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Virginia and is past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Choral Directors.

Cetto received the Outstanding School Educator in 2003 from the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut and was named Choral Director of the Year for Connecticut ACDA in 2004. Her choirs have received top ratings at area Festivals. In 2003, the Choraliers won the Berklee Jazz Festival, vocal ensemble, Boston and in 2015 they won the WGBY Together in Song Competition in Springfield, MA.

Cetto lives in Easthampton, MA, with her wife of 30 years, Alison, and her cat Dora.
