The Golden Thread Gallery is pleased to present the opening of its latest exhibition, “Black & White,” with an Artist Reception on Saturday, March 21, from 7-8:30 p.m. This event is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Black & White is our 4th exhibit in our “Yin & Yang: A Season of Connection & Balance” exhibits. Black & White includes a diverse selection of work from 25 artists from all different backgrounds each giving their own perspective on this theme.

On Saturday March 28, at 3 p.m., the gallery will host an Art Talk “On Painting and Poetry” given by Poet/Painter Gray Jacobik. Gray, a widely-published and honored poet and artist, will share some salient aspects of her years of meditating on the likenesses and differences between painting and poetry. Her talk will focus on space and time, silence and sound, gesture and rhythm, and she will share a few of the many poems she’s written over the years that focus on the art of painting, individual artists, or schools of art. Gray Jacobik, Ph.D., is University Professor Emerita from the Connecticut State Universities, and a studio artist in Deep River.

The Golden Thread Gallery, with the mission of connecting the human spirit through the arts, began presenting meaningful work in 2013. The Golden Thread Gallery exhibits professional and emerging artists from various backgrounds and welcomes all mediums, all cultures and religions.

By displaying a collection of various perspectives on a common theme, we reveal how art can creatively illustrate the diversity of the human condition.

Our name, The Golden Thread, represents the invisible, underlying connection that weaves together the spirit of humanity – through the arts. To date we have had over 175 artists from all over the world present their work at the gallery.

The gallery is located at 303 Tunxis Road in West Hartford, Connecticut. Gallery Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday noon-6 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
