Three students from West Hartford’s Hall High School recently performed in a competition as part of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra.

Joel Margolis, Joey Siegel and Peter Hoyle, Hall High seniors, recently competed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra on Feb. 15, 2016, at the 8th Annual Charles Mingus High School Jazz Competition, in New York City at the Manhattan School of Music.
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra came in 1st in the Specialized Big Band Category and Joel Margolis received a soloist award for his performance on the trombone. As part of his award, Joel was invited to sit in and solo with Mingus Big Band later that night at The Jazz Standard Club.
All three boys are also members of the Hall High Concert Jazz Band.
