After closing Hearty Kitchen suddenly in early July,  owners Justin and Irina Lovelace took stock, re-structured and re-opened their restaurant last week to now include lunch hours on Wednesday through Friday from 11-3:00; and on Saturday and Sunday they offer a changing brunch menu and are open 9-3:00. They also offer free delivery.

The outpouring of support – including a shout out from Arugula owner Christiane Gehami, and countless others on Facebook – has helped encourage the Lovelace’s to re-open with a new menu, and they still make everything from scratch and use local and organic ingredients.

On August 1st, Hearty Kitchen announced their newest partnership. They are now getting fresh, local produce from Grow Hartford, and urban farm that is a project of Hartford Food System which harvests thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables at three different sites in Hartford. This project is in its eleventh growing season.
