Hot Cat Jazz Band Will Bring Mardi Gras to West Hartford

A local favorite, the Hot Cat Jazz Band, will perform a Mardi Gras concert in First Church’s auditorium at 12 South Main St. on Friday, Feb. 5, as part of the Arts in the Center series.

The Hot Cat Jazz Band specializes in swing, big band jazz and classic rock. They will be performing a special early Mardi Gras concert in West Hartford to get everyone into the Fat Tuesday spirit.

The concert will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, beginning at 7 p.m.

The band’s repertoire includes the Swing standards of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington; Big Band hits of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey; popular songs from the 1920s; and New Orleans Dixieland favorites.

The Hot Cat Jazz Band can also perform hundreds of Classic Rock songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and today (Beatles, Elvis Presley, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, Van Morrison, Wilson Pickett, Train and Jason Mraz).

The Hot Cat Jazz Band can also get everyone up and dancing with crowd favorites like Soul Man, KC and the Sunshine Band hits; Sugar Pie Honey Bunch, Mustang Sally and I Feel Good.

Free parking in the church lot.A $10 suggested donation will be collected at the door. Entrance to the auditorium is right off the parking lot, via rotunda. Call 860-233-9605 or visit the church website.
