JTConnect, a Jewish Teen Education and Engagement nonprofit based in West Hartford, is hosting our JTConnect Pink Shabbat On Ice on Feb. 11, 2023 at Veterans Memorial Rink in West Hartford.

This teen event makes a big difference in the community by donating all proceeds to breast cancer research and JTConnect Pink Shabbat On Ice support services. This year our beneficiary organization is Sharsheret – a national nonprofit organization which improves the lives of Jewish women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and saves lives through educational outreach. JTConnect students will also hear from a local speaker who is an advocate and survivor of breast cancer. All students attending make donations to this important cause, and through their work they make a real difference together.

JTConnect serves 300-plus teens each year in the area, and has four program pillars: Teen Philanthropy, Social Action, Jewish Learning & Leadership, and Social Events. Each year our organization mobilizes hundreds of teens to give back to the Greater Hartford community through Social Action Projects. JTConnect works with more than 20 local nonprofit organizations through fundraising, hands-on volunteering, comprehensive social action projects, and long term partnerships.

This year JTConnect teens have partnered with organizations such as Loaves & Fishes, Angel of Edgewood, Open Hearth, Hands On Hartford, Dignity Grows, Mercy Housing, St. Vincent De Paul, Magic Food Bus, House of Bread … and more!

This social action work our organization is involved in fosters trusting partnerships and mutual learning, fundraising and direct giving, and direct impact hands-on social action projects that make a real difference for the Greater-Hartford community in need.

This year JTConnect received our first grant from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, a $5,000 grant for our Summer of Service 2023 Program – which is a weeklong Social Action Camp for Hartford area teens. This Social Action Camp is only one of our high impact social action programs we offer each year.
