In a collaboration between the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce and the Town of West Hartford’s Economic Development Coordinator, We-Ha.com has been publishing tips and spotlighting West Hartford businesses as they continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Editor’s Note: This column has been running as a section of the weekly Business Buzz since fall 2020, but is now being launched as a separate feature. Links will continue to be included in Business Buzz as well.

All businesses that are featured in Keeping It in the Community have been sent identical questions. Responses may be edited for length or format, but otherwise are the statements of the respondent. Photos, except where noted, have also been provided by the business.

Tips have been submitted by the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

Keeping It in the Community Tip: Local businesses offer many wellness options

Wellness can take on a different meanings for people. For some it involves their daily run, bike ride, or workout. For others it involves diet and nutrition. And for some, it takes on a more mindful or spiritual dimension. Many employ a combination of some or all of the aforementioned in a healthy lifestyle.

There are also some additional aspects of self care some people work into their wellness regime. Our community has many professionals who can assist in some other aspects of a healthier you. We have several world-class spas that offer services such as, massage, coool-sculpting, skin and hair care, and intravenous therapies that can not only make you feel better, but also look better. Please keep our local businesses in mind as partners while you strive for a better you!

Keeping It in the Community Spotlight: The Fix

Even in West Hartford, one of the best communities to live in America, people are harried, worried, concerned about ever-changing covid rules on quarantine, lockdowns, masks, vaccinations. People are sick of sick, want to stay healthy and can’t wait for normalization. Here at The Fix, we do everything to make our IV therapy spa an oasis of peace and wellness in this sea of chaos.

Every surface, from floors to door handles to counters and chairs, are cleaned and sanitized constantly. We are obsessed with creating a healthy environment. We cleaned before covid, and now during covid, and will do forever after. Our employees are all professional RNs, who adhere to the strictest of testing and covid protection protocols. Our medical director, the renowned Dr. Henry Jacobs, a West Hartford native, provides constant oversight and up-to-date health information.

The Fix clients come from surrounding communities, and from Old Saybrook, Springfield, NYC, Boston, and Rhode Island. We love our business people, athletes, cops, doctors, walkers, gardeners, golfers. Clients want more energy, help with weight loss, to be refreshed and revitalized.

Clients love our Myers’ Fix, our Slim Fix, our super popular Vitamin D-Booster. The CDC reports that influenza cases are down 99% from last year, and that’s totally – wink, wink – because of our fabulous Flu Fighter Fix.

Our No. 1 marketing strategy is to provide a wonderful, unforgettable client experience. A wonderful experience promotes return clients and positive word-of-mouth. Great nurses. Healthy products. Cozy blankets. Addictively comfy chairs. Great tunes. Fresh flowers. Sparkling strawberry ginger water. Peace-of-mind.

We constantly communicate with our clients. People arrive with copies of our monthly blasts. (Here’s an example, complete with Elvis singing spring): https://mailchi.mp/1edb92e5d809/spring-feverfix-style?e=20cf2ac874

The clients love the specials. And our Wednesday Happy Hour is the busiest place in town.

I am considering new locations and franchising or licensing. I’m not sure how to do big new things because I’m already working 80 hours a week, plus I’m a single mom with an active pre-teen daughter. Just thinking about that makes me want to get our Power boost.

Everybody is invited to The Fix. The Fix is all about health, happiness, HIPAA, and holistic, true holistic, wellness alternatives to pills and prescriptions.

The Fix is located at 1000 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. They can be reached at 860-206-3677, and more information can be found on their website.
