Dear Editor,

In reading the article regarding what to do with the Uconn campus in West Hartford, I see that a person was quoted as saying that there is enough senior housing in West Hartford. I strongly disagree with that statement.

There is housing for wealthy West Hartford seniors and that is it. Not everyone can afford McAuley or Duncaster. Our seniors should have affordable choices right here in town and not be forced to leave the state or move to a far flung town to find housing, leaving behind a community, and friends that they know and love.

Presently there is a very long wait for senior affordable housing. As the boomers age, that wait is only going to get longer.

Regards,

Lisa Campo
