To the Editor:

I am writing to support Chris Barnes as our state representative for the 19th district. I have known Chris for many years now. I have had the pleasure of working with Chris on the RTC, the Jim Calhoun Cancer Ride; faith based retreats, various chamber of commerce events, church projects, etc.

I work for a West Hartford based office re-location company, and my wife’s parent company is one of the largest employers in West Hartford, so we know firsthand the challenges facing local businesses. Chris Barnes is committed to the businesses in West Hartford, and throughout the State. If elected as a State Representative in the 19th district, Chris would be committed to Connecticut’s long term sustainability by keeping businesses and jobs in our great state. This can only be accomplished by changing the current unfavorable business climate in our State. I personally see more companies leave our state than move in.

Chris Barnes is a leader whose qualities include; intelligence, thoughtfulness, and moral character. These qualities are greatly needed at this time in this state. Chris Barnes transcends party lines and he is respected on both sides of the aisle. Chris is logically looking to help create a state in which our children may grow up in safety, have unparalleled education, and find quality employment within Connecticut’s boarders versus leaving this state for greener pastures.

Please join me in making Connecticut the best state to live in by supporting Chris Barnes as our new State Representative for the 19th district.

Sincerely,

Paul F. Travers
West Hartford
