To the Editor:
Town Councilor Tiffani McGinnis does a great job for all of us. She is always well-prepared to do the hard work that makes government work. Tiffiani truly listens and cares about all the voices of our community – especially those who are not always heard.
From the struggles in her own life, Tiffani has made advocacy and service her life’s work. Where others just see voters at election time, Tiffani sees people with all their challenges and hopes all the time.
Tiffani McGinnis has something all too missing these days – genuine empathy. She believes good leaders are listeners. She understands the challenges so many of us and our families deal with every day. Her values are West Hartford’s values – fiscal prudence, neighborliness, great schools and services, safe streets, and smart growth that adds to the town’s grand list so we don’t ask even more from our residents. She is also a strong advocate for state property tax relief.
My wife, Carolyn, and I were both honored to serve on the Town Council years ago. We are grateful that Tiffani McGinnis continues West Hartford’s tradition of good government. We will be proud to vote for her and all the Democratic candidates – especially this year when local government is our first and last line of defense against the Trump Republican assault on democracy.
