To the Editor:
After reading Mayor Shari Cantor’s Op-Ed on Sunday it is my sincere opinion that many Democrats in this town have a very bad case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), which I consider a dangerous obsession, a mindset that I discussed thoroughly in an op-ed that was printed in this publication back in February. I would encourage the mayor and multiple members of her Town Council majority to really do some soul-searching and determine if their obsession with Trump is controlling their lives, making them ineffective leaders, and generally insufferable people. I vote for all of the above.
The mayor claims the local Republicans are obsessed with Trump and MAGA and only care about him and not local issues. It’s her side that keeps bring him up. It’s the only issue they’ve got. I do not have personal or professional relationships with any candidates running for office this year, but here is what matters to me as a conservative voter. The Democrats have taken their agenda too far by constantly demonizing people on the other side. They throw around supposed insults like MAGA Republicans, like middle school banter. We are just Republicans or Republican supporters. The qualifiers don’t work. We have had it with the big box apartments, the tax increases, and the lack of public forceful denunciations of the threat of radical anti-Israel ideologies.
So what if we love Donald Trump and we love Charlie Kirk? They have a more bountiful basket of substantive ideas than anyone on the opposing side in terms of national policies and broader philosophy of governance. The tired arguments and gotchas espoused by the mayor and others about are very stale.
Electing a new majority goes a long way toward curing this town of TDS, but it is not the only remedy. It is exactly because of the Democrat majority’s obsession outlined in the mayor’s editorial, why we want to vote for a change in this town.
I want every single Republican running in our local elections to win this year. Give them your support, even if you have only voted Democrat in the past. Let’s hope that upon retaking the majority, the Republicans end Vision Zero on the first day they can take a vote. We will have a big celebration with those cameras being ripped out. End the coercive control. Respect political opponents but lead them to sanity. And in the words of Charlie Kirk, lead them to a saving faith in Jesus Christ – which is the only name under which this town can be saved – not the name Democrat or Republican.

Another maga graduate of the Dunning-Kruger Institute bemoaning being demonized by the other side while demonizing that side.
again — the Maga insults do not work. I could have added a lot of words before Democrat. We can go there if you want. But you know what. You are just Democrats. We are just Republicans. I would still have a steak and a beer or soda with you Dale.
Wow guess they just let anyone write. 🤦♂️
So many words used and such little substance. But your end cap claiming that Jesus Christ is the “only name that can save this town” actually made me laugh out loud.. so thank you for that.
If you don’t repudiate Trump all he stands for, then everything else you say is a non-starter.
I agree! Let the book burnings commence.
Not to address the content of the above Letter to the Editor (in fact, not even having read it – because it will be just another list of misrepresentations [to put it mildly]), but I am PUZZLED why We-Ha keeps printing an endless stream of Letters from Mr. Boudreau. Not at all asking here for censorship, but just simply puzzled at what seems to be some dearth of publishing-worthy letters from other readers.
Whenever anybody asks me why I am no longer a Republican I point to thought-free, heavy on the hypocritical talking points, God invoking, cultist dispatches such as this.
Long gone are men like Eisenhower, Rockefeller, Brooke, Chafee, McCain, and their supporters.
