Letter: Stephanie Thomas Is The Best Choice

Dear Editor,

We first met Stephanie Thomas in January at a forum for all Secretary of the State Candidates. We were immediately impressed with her command of the issues and plans for the office. We aren’t the only ones to be impressed, as Stephanie has received the endorsement of former Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, the Connecticut Democratic Party, and over 120 Democratic leaders throughout the state.

This is a perilous time in our country for voting rights, and we need a Secretary of the State who is ready on day one. Stephanie not only supports an expansion of voting rights but also has a plan to expand civic education and community engagement throughout the state.

As a small business owner herself, Stephanie understands the need to make starting, owning, and sustaining a small business easier and more affordable.

For all of the reasons mentioned above, we ask you to vote for Stephanie Thomas for Secretary of the State on August 9th.

Sincerely,

John Bailey and Tiffani McGinnis
Chair and Vice Chair of the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee

  • Mr. Bailey — it is a perilous time for voting rights. I would agree with you — due to mail in ballots and having ballots filled out for people who are incompetent or had no intention of voting. It is a perilous time indeed. Sadly your party hasn’t a clue.
