To the Editor of We-Ha.com,
As the former Town Chair of the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many dedicated public servants – but few have impressed me as deeply as Lisa Lazarus. Her candidacy for Town Council is not only timely, it’s essential. Lisa brings a rare blend of professional expertise and heartfelt commitment to our community. Her background in Human Resources and Commercial Real Estate gives her a unique lens through which to view the challenges and opportunities facing West Hartford. She understands how to build inclusive workplaces, negotiate complex deals, and advocate for policies that benefit everyone – from small business owners to working families.
Lisa’s desire to serve is rooted in a genuine love for West Hartford and a belief that good governance begins with listening. I’ve seen firsthand her ability to connect with residents across neighborhoods, demographics, and political affiliations. She doesn’t just talk about diversity – she lives it, champions it, and works to ensure our town remains vibrant, welcoming, and forward-thinking. Her approach is pragmatic yet compassionate, always seeking common ground while never losing sight of our shared values.
What sets Lisa apart are three qualities that every council member should possess: Humility, Energy, and Intelligence. She listens before she speaks, she acts with purpose, and she thinks critically about every issue that comes before her. Whether she’s analyzing zoning proposals or advocating for workforce development, Lisa brings clarity, curiosity, and conviction to the table. Her energy is contagious, her intellect sharp, and her humility grounding. These traits will serve her – and all of us – well in the council chambers.
I wholeheartedly support Lisa Lazarus for Town Council and encourage my fellow residents to do the same. West Hartford deserves leaders who are both capable and caring, and Lisa is exactly that. She’s ready to serve, ready to lead, and ready to ensure our town continues to thrive.
Sincerely,
John M. Bailey II
