Dear Editor:

Election Day is right around the corner and I encourage my fellow West Hartford voters to join me in re-electing Deb Polun to the Town Council. I have known Deb for many years and can attest that she is passionate leader who is incredibly committed to public service.

Deb has served on the Town Council since 2022, and in that time she has proven to be a champion of taxpayers and families. Deb has supported fiscally responsible budgets while also maintaining the high quality of services we have come to expect here in West Hartford. Both families and businesses want to move to West Hartford because we are consistently ranked among the best towns in the country – and great leaders like Deb help make that possible.

Before serving on the Town Council, Deb was elected to the Board of Education where she played a leading role in helping our schools be recognized as among the best public schools in our state. She served as chair of the board during the COVID-19 pandemic – which was one of the most difficult times in the history of our schools.

In addition to her service in elected office, Deb is the Chief Strategy Officer at the Community Health Association of Connecticut. She has also worked for the Connecticut Association for Community Action and the Connecticut General Assembly, where she demonstrated a command of public policy that always benefited the people she served.

On Election Day, please join me in voting for Deb Polun for Town Council. We need to keep moving West Hartford forward.

Jason Jakubowski
