Hi everyone!

My name is Katie and I’m a graduating senior from Conard and I’m posting on behalf of the Conard/Hall graduates of 2020. I don’t think we can thank everyone enough for the overwhelming amount of support shown yesterday during our parades.

Our teachers, faculty, students, family, friends, and neighbors went above and beyond in every way we could’ve imagined. This difficult and stressful time has brought upon us a lot of uncertainty and a lot of upset. However, seeing how many of you came out to congratulate and support us truly filled our hearts.

I know I, alongside many other students and even our family members in the cars were brought to tears because of this amazing display of reassurance. No words can truly amount to the gratitude we have for each and every person who participated in making these parades so great.

I hope as many of you had fun watching as we did being in the parade itself. Of all the ways to end this chaotic school year, this definitely made more of a positive difference than you’ll ever know.

I know we’ll never be able to thank you enough but this is a best attempt at a thank you to the West Hartford community for one of the best memories that we’ll never forget.

The parade was a bittersweet moment, as we realize how much these grads have missed out celebrating. However, it was great to see the community out (most adhering to social distance restrictions/ masks) recognizing the grads. I think we all had fun and experienced a coming together that we needed as a community. Maybe, although without the pandemic (please!), we will see this as a new tradition in town…Thank you to the teachers, students, staff, police, fire, and all other individuals involved in facilitating this event. Congratulations to all the grads of 2020!
