Letter to the Editor: Vote Row B on November 5th

To the Editor,

My husband and I moved to West Hartford in 1997. I was thrilled with the services we received based on the taxes we paid. I can no longer say that.

In 2003 when the majority party took over I have seen a consistent decline in services and a consistent property tax increase (and let us not forget the mill rate increase last year!) that is exceeding the cost of living for many of our town residents. In the past five years alone our property taxes have increased 25%!

I urge the residents of West Hartford to vote Row B for Town Council and Board of Education candidates that will be financially responsible with your tax dollars.

  • Dear Mrs Donavan, How’s this for frustration? My wife and I have been residents of this town for over 50 years. We moved from Hartford because of the unsafe conditions there and increase in crime . Recently my wife was nearly knocked to the ground in the parking lot at Big Y. Anger yes and intensified when The Democratic Town Committee hosts John Larson to talk about impeaching Trump. The house next door was robbed in broad daylight, and our wives can not go to self serve stations without being harassed. Thanks town council marionettes to the DTC! Gary K Bullard
