Dear Kind Editor,
I am writing today to express my support for Ben Wenograd in his bid for re-election to the West Hartford Town Council. Councilor Wenograd is thoughtful, a consensus builder, is practical thinking, and perhaps most important, a great listener. These are all qualities that a true leader possesses.
Ben has been on the Council since 2015. In that time, he has addressed issues that are of concern to many residents of West Hartford. Increasing housing options to include more affordable choices. Promoting smart and transit-oriented development that encourages well planned growth not to just our population, but to our grand list. Ben understands the importance of addressing climate change and knows that the time to do something is now … not at some undetermined date in the future. Biking is a passion for Ben and he has worked to increase bike lanes and improve bicycle and pedestrian safety.
Bricks and pavement alone a community does not make and Ben knows this. Ben strongly believes that community building makes for a successful West Hartford. Ben has no problem rolling up his sleeves to help – whether it is a clean-up day in Elmwood or volunteering on the West Hartford Pride Committee. Ben knows that a diverse an inclusive community makes a successful West Hartford. While others may want equality only, Ben knows that without equity there is no true equality and those who are struggling in a system not designed to include them will continue to struggle.
The bottom line is this: Ben Wenograd is a leader that West Hartford needs as we exit a COVID world into one that has a changed economy, a renewed social reckoning and a need for politicians who are thoughtful and can offer a balanced solution to today’s issues. Ben Wenograd is working for us and the community. Please join me in supporting and voting for Ben Wenograd and his Row A colleagues on Nov 2nd. Thank you.
