Dear Editor,
West Hartford is a great place to live, to raise a family, and to call “Home.” But like much of life, there is room for improvement.
The world is changing rapidly. Our way of doing things, our outdated systems and institutions need to be updated. The priorities of young people and their families are significantly different than those of past generations. Those changes dictate the need for fresh ideas, collaboration, and a new approach to meet current and future challenges. We’re truly at a critical juncture, when it comes to National, State, and Local issues. Simply stated, the way we’ve been doing things has run its course. While the challenge is global, we need now, more than ever, to focus locally, where we can have the greatest input.
The home-town issues we feel most include a combination of safety, housing, taxes, and related quality of life issues, and where all of those issues intersect. We need leadership that both understands this complexity, but also has fresh ideas about how to address immediate needs and challenges while provide groundwork for a bright future for our Town, our young families, our Senior citizens, and residents old and new. That’s why I am writing to you today, in support of Dr. Jason Wang for Town Council.
As a member of the West Hartford Pedestrian and Bicycle Commission, I became acquainted with Jason’s sincere effort to contribute and to make West Hartford even better than it is. His concern on behalf of the well-being of the children in this Town is remarkable. He’s thoughtful, respectful, and reasonable. Those are qualities that are vital for a successful representative of all town residents. West Hartford will be well-served if we can elect Jason to be a member of our Town Council.
In closing, I urge you to look to the future of West Hartford, which lies not in the same old thing, but in fresh ideas, innovative thinking, and young leaders like Jason. Please put aside partisan politics, forget about national issues and vote for Dr. Jason Wang for West Hartford Town Council.
Sincerely,
John B. Wenz
