Mandell JCC Welcomes New Youth Theater Director to West Hartford

The Mandell JCC is excited to announce new Youth Theater Director, Lisa Grant, who will direct the upcoming performances of Alice in Wonderland Jr. in the Herbert Gilman Theater at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT. 

Grant comes to the JCC with a broad range of experience, beginning her career as a professional performer in Musical Theater and Opera. She earned a Master’s Degree from the famed Julliard School in New York City, securing professional management at the age of 21, and then appearing on stages across the United States and Europe.

After leaving professional performing, Grant obtained her Connecticut Teaching Certifications in music education and theater arts. She currently teaches choir/general music/theater for the district of Simsbury, and directs the HJMS middle school musical which was recently selected as the New England Theatre Conference’s outstanding youth theater production for the 2015-16 Production of The Lion King Jr. In addition to teaching, Grant maintains a private vocal and theater arts studio.

The Mandell JCC is thrilled to have Lisa join the beloved Mandell JCC Youth Theater Department bringing her talent and expertise to an already successful program.
